MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - An astounding number of Vikings have earned All-SAA recognition as Teresa Rodriguez headlines the First Team, and Maggie Jones and Nicole Knight achieve Second Team All-SAA nods.
Teresa Rodriguez has proved herself to be an essential piece of the Viking roster with her First Team All-SAA nod. The transfer from Georgia Southwestern State University hit the ground running as a Viking with four goals and two assists. At 6'2, Teresa's height and athleticism pose a unique challenge to opponents. On top of her offensive prowess, Rodriguez is also utilized as a defensive magician, earning possessions at will for Berry.
Maggie Jones has been an enforcer in goal for the Vikings for the past four years, earning All-Conference in three of her years as a Viking. This year was no different, as the Knoxville, Tennessee native has started in all fifteen games this year and reached over 1,200 minutes in the 2024 campaign. Jones has been dominant as the last line of defense for Berry with 76 saves on the year and holds a 81.7 save percentage. This year's Second Team All-SAA honor only adds to Maggie Jones' unmatched resume as a goalkeeper in the SAA.
Nicole Knight joins Jones as a Second-Team All-SAA performer for the Vikings. Known for her speed in the open field and striking power, Knight came up with timely goals for the Vikings with two on the year and one assist. Her energy is what makes the Viking attack so threatening for opponents. She was also efficient, shooting 55 percent on shots on goal.
The Vikings also had multiple athletes named All-SAA Honorable Mention. These athletes include Olivia Bryan, Caroline Crimi, and Maddie Owen.
Kelsie Crosier also earned All-SAA Sportsmanship recognition.
These All-SAA members and the team will be in action at Pearson Field this Saturday at 3:00 PM ET, hosting Oglethorpe in the first round of the SAA Tournament.
