MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Victor Icebreaker Duals began the Outdoor Track and Field season at home for the Vikings today.

Just a week after competing in the Indoor SAA Championships, the Vikings took to the outdoor track today to compete in their home meet. In the duals, the team crushed DIII opponents Piedmont and Maryville:

Berry 146.00 - 3.00 Maryville (Tenn.)

Results:
Women's Field Events:

• The women went 1-2-3 in the Javelin with Cortney Brown, Sadie Phillips and Macy Murdock having great performances with throws of 36.88m, 34.48m, and 29.20m, respectively
• Onoyeme Egure came out on top in the shot put with a throw of 13.24m and followed it up with a fourth place finish in the discus
• A fourth place finish came from Julia Shipes in the long jump (5.24m)
• Madeline Hubbert and Emilee Easley claimed the top two spots in the pole vault at 3.28m and 3.13m
• In the hammer throw, Malysha Winston took third at 42.24m
• Kris Williams opened the outdoor season with a first place finish in the high jump at 1.58m and teammate Julia Shipes took third (1.53m)
• In the triple jump, Cortney Jones finished third overall (10.77m)

Women's Track Events:

• Emma Lambert and Sinclair Denney took first and second in the 10000m to start off the track events for Berry with times of 40:28.20 and 41:52.75
• Anna Ayers showed out in the 5000m, finishing first at 19:02.04 and Olivia Lambert finished third at 19:15.94
• The women went 1-3-5 in the 1500m with Anna Rose taking first (and also taking first in the 800m at 2:22.09), Ariel Ellis in third, and Isabella Tadesco taking fifth.
• Macy Murdock took third in the 100m hurdles at 15.44 and first in the 400m hurdles (1:04.68), Josie Loggins took second in the 400m hurdles
• Freshman, Julianne Shirley finished fourth overall in the 400m at 1:02.18

The outdoor team will be back in action on March 21 at the Emory Spring Break Classic.
