Onoyeme Egure Selected for NCAA D3 Indoor Track & Field Championships

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Junior Onoyeme Egure, the 2026 SAA Indoor Thrower of the Year has qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships in the Shot Put.

The meet will be contested at the Crossplex Facility in Birmingham, AL on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14th.  The top 20 ranked individuals in each event and top 12 relay teams earn the right to compete for a national championship title. Egure, finished the indoor season with a throw of 13.66m which currently sits at #17 in the nation. It is the third time in a row that the Berry record holder and SAA Champion has qualified for the Championship meet after finishing in 10th place in both Indoor and Outdoor Championships in 2025 as a Sophomore while earning USTFCCCA Second Team All-American honors in both. Egure is the only Viking to qualify for three NCAA Championships in an individual sport since Berry's move to Division III. Onoyeme is scheduled to compete at 2pm CST on Saturday, March 14th. 
Egure is a Dual-Degree Engineering major from Fayetteville, GA and graduated from Fayette County HS.
