MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Familiar faces to the SAA's weekly awards have left their mark again for women's track and field, as Onoyeme Egure and Macy Murdock each top the charts.
Onoyeme was her usual dominant self in the shot put at the Emory Thrill in the Hills & Multi's, throwing a 13.36m to earn a first-place finish. Egure shows no signs of slowing down after competing on the national stage for the indoor postseason, as she is still ranked fifth nationally for her outdoor performance on March 7th. She leads the SAA and the South Region in the event.
Macy Murdock's production continues to raise eyebrows for her stellar performances in the heptathlon. Murdock finished sixth in a loaded field with an overall score of 4238. Murdock ran a seasonal PR in the 100H of 15.16 seconds while competing in the Heptathlon at the Emory Thrills in the Hills Invite. Her time is the fastest time in the SAA so far this season and is ranked #4 in the South Region. Her score of 4238pts in the Heptathlon is #2 in the South Region and #7 in the nation.
Catch a handful of the Vikings right back in action at Emory for the third weekend in a row at the Emory Dooley Elite on Saturday April 4th.
