Benham NABC All-American

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Braxton Benham has earned his way to national recognition with a spot on the National Association of Basketball Coaches' All-America Third Team.

The senior captain is one of just thirty athletes in the country to earn a spot on the All-American Team at the division 3 level. The NABC All-American Teams are voted on by NABC-member coaches from across the country. Benham is the first Viking Men's Basketball All-American since Daniel Ferguson in 2009.

Braxton's path to All-American status was paved by his consistency for the Vikings night in and night out. The Cartersville, Georgia, native averaged 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game over 29 games to pace the Vikings. His season's climax was a two-game stretch where he poured in a career-high 42 points on 14-29 shooting in a victory against Rhodes on February 2 and a 41-point game on 16-27 shooting in a win against Sewanee on February 7.

Benham's milestones continue with him becoming Berry's all-time leading scorer in the D3 Era with a career total of 1,424 points, all-time leader in steals with 218, and all-time leader in assists with 402.

The senior captain led his team to an SAA Regular Season and Tournament Championship. Benham also led Berry to their first ever NCAA Tournament win to cap off his illustrious career in navy and white.
