Box Score ROME, Ga. - Viking Women's Tennis finished the SAA sweep this weekend with a Senior Day win over Hendrix 9-0.

After yesterday's narrow win versus Rhodes College, the women came prepared with their best tennis as Lacey Craig / Saris Mejia at second doubles dispatched their opponent 8-0. Juliana Mascagni / Lauren Masteller at first doubles and Angelle Thornton / Olivia Walton at third doubles were quick to follow suit, both winning their matches in decisive fashion 8-1 and 8-2, respectively.

With a 3-0 lead after completion of the doubles matches, the women were intent on continuing their momentum with Saris Mejia leading the charge at third singles winning 6-0, 6-1. This was closely followed by Oliva Walton at fifth singles winning 6-1, 6-0 and Lacey Craig at fourth singles winning 6-0, 6-3. Their top two players put up a resistance but this was stifled by Lauren Masteller at first singles winning 6-2, 6-2 and Juliana Mascagni at second singles beating her opponent 6-2, 6-1. Angelle Thornton at sixth singles was in a unique situation with the opportunity to present Berry College with a clean sweep, and she delivered 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4). Having secured a 9-0 sweep over Hendrix College, the women will look to climb further during their next match this Wednesday against Wallace State Community College.
