Box Score ROME, Ga. - The Women's Tennis team opened up their season with a win over Division II opponent, Shorter (5-2).

The team was off to a fiery start on Tuesday, January 30th under the night lights of Rome Tennis Center as they clinched their opener against Division II rival Shorter University with a 5-2 record!

First and second doubles made quick work of their opponents with consistency and strategy, and third doubles lost a close match with the pressure constantly swinging both ways!

Lauren Masteller and Lacey Craig at first and second singles, respectively, ground down their opponents with consistent hard hitting to secure the lead for Berry.

Angelle Thornton at sixth singles won her match, and with three singles wins, Berry College had clinched the series just as rain had arrived to stop play.
