Berry stayed unbeaten in Southern Athletic Association women's tennis action as the Vikings defeated Oglethorpe, 6-3, Thursday afternoon at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga.
The Vikings took a 2-1 lead into singles after wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles pairings.
Lacey Craig and
Sakura Manning were pushed deep into a tiebreak before earning an 8-7 (8-6) win at the No. 2 slot, with
Olivia Walton and
Angelle Thornton winning 8-2 at No. 3.
Berry would win four of the singles lines to earn the win in the match, with each win coming in straight sets.
Lauren Masteller (No. 2),
Lacey Craig (No. 3), Manning (No. 5), and Thornton (No. 6) picked up victories to improve Berry to 3-0 in SAA play for the campaign.
The road will get tougher for Berry as the Vikings will travel to face nationally-ranked Sewanee Apr. 15 in Sewanee, Tenn.
