Women's Tennis Takes to Court Friday in SAA Quarters

Berry's women's tennis team will look to start off the Southern Athletic Association Championship on the right foot Friday afternoon in Murfreesboro, Tenn., as the Vikings take on Oglethorpe University in the quarterfinal round. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The Vikings had just one loss in SAA play in 2022, with that loss coming to national top-10 foe Sewanee. Berry sits at 10-4 overall and closed the season 6-1 in SAA action to earn the No. 2 seed for the tournament.

Allison Ivey, Berry's Female Scholar Athlete of the Year, will look to continue her incredible season. The senior was undefeated in SAA play this season at the top line for Berry and will look to help her team reach the semifinal round.

In the earlier meeting this season with the Stormy Petrels, Berry was victorious 9-0. In three of the singles matches, the Vikings didn't lose a game in any set.

A win on Friday would put the Vikings into the semifinals to face the winner of the Friday contest between Centre and Millsaps.
