MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Piedmont's Anslyn Stamps scored in the 107th minute, as the Berry College women's soccer team fell to Piedmont College 1-0 in double overtime on Wednesday night at home.
Although both the Vikings and the Lions added 12 and 15 shots, respectively, in the contest the game remained scoreless at the end of regulation play, forcing the game into overtime. Berry then notched two shots in the first overtime period but still could not find the back of the net. Piedmont opened the final overtime period with three consecutive shots before Stamps scored the lone goal of the game in the 107th minute, ensuring Piedmont's 1-0 victory. On the night, the Lions led the game in saves (5-4), while both teams added five corner kicks.
