Midkiff Tallies Twice, Women's Soccer Defeats Piedmont 4-1

DEMOREST, Ga. – Maggie Midkiff scored twice as the Berry College women's soccer team defeated Piedmont, 4-1, on Wednesday night.

Meredith Beretta and Samantha Schoppy each tallied once in the win as well.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Midkiff opened up the scoring with her first goal off a pass from Ansley Rushing in the 25th minute.
  • Piedmont's Cassidy Reich then tied the game at one goal apiece, opening up the second half with a tally in the 67th minute.
  • Midkiff, Beretta and Schoppy then rounded out the scoring in the second half, ensuring the, 4-1, victory.

  • Midkiff: 2 shots, 2 shots on goal, 2 goals
  • Schoppy: 2 shots, 1 shot on goal, 1 goal

NOTABLES:

  • The Vikings move to 5-4 on the season.
  • Midkiff now has 7 goals on the year, tied for second in the Southern Athletic Association.
