ROME, Ga. -- Cassidy Reich scored the lone goal of the game in the 93rd minute as Piedmont defeated Berry College, 1-0 in overtime, on Tuesday. Megan Hatfield had the assist on the scoring play.
The loss dropped the Vikings to 3-1-1. The win improved the visiting Lions to 5-0.
For the Vikes, Melissa Sanchez took the loss in the goal. She collected four saves and allowed one goal in her 92:35 of time in the nets.
The Vikings had a strong first half as they outshot PC, 8-3, in the first half. The Lions, however, outshot BC 5-0 in the second half. Berry had the edge in corner kicks, 3-1.
BC will take on Emory University in their next match on Sunday, Sept. 20. Game time is at 1 p.m. at Ford Field.
