SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Allowing a 56th minute goal from the Tigers' Tyler Edell, the Berry College women's soccer team fell to Sewanee, 1-0, on Friday night.
The loss dropped the Vikings to 9-4-1 overall and 4-2 in the Southern Athletic Association. The win improved the Tigers to 10-3-2 and 6-0-1.
Neither team scored in the first half, and the game remained tied, 0-0, going into halftime.
Finding the back of the net on a pass from Martha Dinwiddie, Edell scored the lone goal of the game to start the second half. The tally was all the Tigers needed to maintain the victory.
For the Vikings, Maggie Midkiff had two shots, both of which were on goal.
While both teams had two corner kicks apiece, the Tigers led the game in shots (9-3).
The Vikes host Centre College in their last regular season SAA match on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 2:30 p.m.
