Box Score DEMOREST, Georgia -- Maggie Midkiff had two goals and two assists as Berry College won at Piedmont College, 4-2, on Monday night.
The Vikings improved to 9-2 and the Lions dropped to 7-4-1.
BC's Celia Dann scored the game's first goal in the 23rd minute off a cross from Midkiff. Midkiff then pushed the margin to 2-0 in the 41st minute on an 18-yard shot to the left corner.
About 30 seconds later, Megan Hatfield tallied an unassisted goal to pull the Lions to within one goal. Berry, however, went to halftime with a 3-1 advantage as Midkiff assisted Chandler Maddox in the 43rd minute.
Less than two minutes into the second half, Hatfield netted her second goal on a penalty kick to reduce the margin to 3-2.
In the 60th minute, however, Dann passed a long ball to Midkiff who finished in the upper left corner for the final goal.
BC had the lead in shots (19-7) and corner kicks (8-0).
Jackie McGivney started in goal and earned the win. Melissa Sanchez and Maggie Piety split time in the second half.
Notes:
-Tonight's game was the first time Berry did not take part in a shutout this year. The Vikings had eight shutouts entering the match and were shut out in its two defeats.
-Midkiff now has a conference best 33 points (14 goals, five assists).
-Dann has scored a goal in each of the last four games. She has three assists in that same span.
-The Vikings return to SAA play on Saturday with at match at Centre College.
