Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The Berry College women's soccer team scored early and late in a 2-0 win at Sewanee on Friday night.
Berry moved to 10-3 and 3-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. UOS dropped to 9-3-1 and 2-2.
The visiting Vikings wasted no time in notching a goal. Kim Fischer scored off an assist from Molly Johnson in the fourth minute for BC.
The score remained the same until the 90th minute when Tessa Piety scored on a free kick.
"We had two good teams playing on a wonderful fall afternoon," said Lorenzo Canalis, Berry's head coach. "We were able to edge them, and continue getting results in conference play. I am very proud of our team."
Despite the loss, the Tigers had a slight edge in shots (14-11) and corner kicks (9-3).
Olivia Glascoe had three saves for Sewanee. Melissa Sanchez stopped two shots, earned her third shutout, and improved to 10-3 for the season.
Berry hosts LaGrange on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
