Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Tessa Piety and Kim Fischer scored goals and Berry College held off Rhodes College, 2-1, on Sunday.
The Vikings improved to 9-3 and 2-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Lynx dropped to 10-4, 2-2.
Fischer got the visitors on the scoreboard in the 21st minute after she kicked in a rebound.
Piety pushed the margin to 2-0 in the 39th minute. She also scored on a rebound, which she directed to the right side of the goal.
The Vikings held the 2-0 lead at the break.
Hannah Sellner halved BC's margin in the 83rd minute with a goal. Berry did not allow another shot, however, and held on for the victory.
The Vikings led in shots (13-6) and corner kicks (7-5).
Melissa Sanchez collected four saves in the win.
Berry plays at Sewanee on Friday night.
