Berry's men's tennis teams swept the bottom two doubles matches and the lower five singles matches to pick up a 7-2 win over Covenant at Berry's Richards Tennis Courts Wednesday.
Berry jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches, as the Vikings' No. 2 team of Ben Ortman and Steven Weeks defeated Covenant's Andy Jones and Calvin Chase 8-2 and the No. 3 tandem of Jake Pullen and Kyle Stapleton defeated Clark Sealy and Jake Sikkema 8-5.
Berry then earned five straight sets singles wins to seal the victory.
Stapleton and Weeks were the first two Berry players off the court, as Stapleton handed Sikkema a 6-1, 6-2 loss in the sixth position and Weeks defeated Sealy 6-2, 6-1 in the fifth slot. Logan Yerbey then defeated Jonny Herberich 6-0, 6-2 in the second position to clinch the win for Berry.
Pullen then finished off Jones 6-4, 6-0 in the third position and Ortman defeated Chase 6-1, 6-4.
Covenant's lone singles win came in the top slot, where John Hirte defeated Jonathan Surls 7-5, 4-6, 10-8.
The Vikings are scheduled to return to action Thursday, when they host Sewanee at 3 p.m.
