GREENSBORO, NC. - The Berry College women's soccer team played at Greensboro College on Sunday afternoon. The Vikings won in dominant fashion by a score of 6-0 over the Pride.
The Vikings came out of the game aggressively in the first half with nine shots and eight shots on goal compared to Greensboro's one shot in the first half.
Teresa Rodriguez scored first for the Vikings in the 25th minute with a goal from 20 yards out.
Alexis Reigel added on to the lead in the 43rd minute with a second goal, assisted by
Anna Robbins.
The Vikings did not show any signs of slowing down in the second half as the team added four more goals. Rodriguez scored again early in the second half in the 60th minute to push the lead to three. Rodriguez then assisted on the Vikings fourth goal in the 65th minute where
Ide Strickland scored for the Vikings.
Giselle Aitken also scored and pushed the lead to five 30 seconds later, also leading the Vikings in the game with five shots. The final goal came in the 87th minute, where
Mia Ries scored to add the sixth goal.
Kate Hill finished with three saves on the day.
The Vikings are back in action Tuesday, Sept. 16th, at Huntingdon College at 6pm where they look to add another win onto their hot start to the year.
