MONTGOMERY, Ala. The Vikings Women's Soccer squad faced the Huntingdon Hawks on Tuesday, prevailing 4-1 on the road.
Senior midfielder Teresa Rodriguez started things off with a goal of her own, setting tension against the Hawks early on. At around 22 minutes in, Rodriguez followed up with yet another goal, setting a 2-0 lead.
The Vikings offense showed great determination following Rodriguez's 2 early goals, so much so that sophomore forward
Emily Walsh nailed a great goal entering the 29th minute.
Entering the second half, the Hawks started off blazing with a goal, preventing a shut-out. three minutes later, freshman forward
Anna Robbins answered back, creating a healthy 4-1 lead.
Throughout the match, the Hawks faced great shot attempts from
Laina Engelbart, Giana Maimone, and
Nicole Knight. The Vikings ended up dominating the Huntingdon Hawks 4-1.
The Vikings will continue their tour on the road when they face Johnson and Wales University on Saturday, September 20th.
