Men's Track and Field Place 5th on Senior Day

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - In the final day of the Berry Multis and Field Day Invitational, the Berry Men's Track and Field team finished 5th out of 15 teams.

Head Coach Luke Syverson said, "The men battled some less than desirable weather over the last two days but did a commendable job competing.

The distance group did a great job in their events putting together a number of personal records, especially in the 1500, 5k, and 800m. Being able to celebrate our 26 seniors combined on both teams was the highlight of the meet and the men will be in strong position to try and defend their SAA title in two weeks."

Highlights of day three included Jahari Jones season best in the 200m to finish second at 21.34, this time leads the SAA and South Region and is ranked No.8 nationally for division III. He also took seventh in the 100m with a 10.67.

Cole Gearing finished ninth overall in the javelin with a lifetime PR of 45.69m and also in the field, Dawson Livingston had a fifth place finish in the shot put with a new season PR of 14.45m (a mark that is 2nd in the SAA). Livingston also finished seventh in the discus.

Senior Marcus Wilson took fifth in the 110 hurdles with a 15.46 and freshman Andy Forsyth finished fifth as well in the 800m at 1:58.05 with fellow freshman T Harris taking 8th at 1:59
38.

Next Saturday, the Vikings will head to Sewanee to take on the Mountain Laurel Open.
