MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Today, the Men's Track and Field team opened up their Outdoor season after just completing their SAA Indoor Championships.

A big success each year, The Victor Icebreaker Duals hosted by the team was underway early this morning. For the men, the duals consisted of Berry against Piedmont and against Maryville. The Vikings were success in both with the following scores:
Berry 79.00 - 69.00 Piedmont
Berry 111.00 - 32.00 Maryville (Tenn.)

Results:
Men's Field Events:

• Cole Gearing led Berry in the Javelin with a sixth place finish overall at 39.27m
• Dawson Livingston had a great day in the field events. He went first in the Hammer Throw (52.36m), second in the Discus (41.99m) and fifth overall in the Shot Put at 14.19m

Men's Track Events:

• Berry started strong with the 5000m as Tucker Wright claimed the top spot with a time of 14:59.77 and teammate T Harris following up with a third place finish at 15:34.91
• Continuing with distance success, Ethan Smith claimed the 1500m (4:01.89) and Troy Blackwood came behind him in fourth. Smith followed his performance with a first-place finish in the 3000 steeplechase
• In the 110m Hurdles, senior Marcus Wilson beat all competitors at 15.11 and also claimed the gold in the 400m hurdles
• Jahari Jones, the SAA Indoor High Point Scorer, took the 100m with a time of 10.59

The Vikings Outdoor team will return to action on March 21 at the Emory Spring Break Classic.
