Men's Basketball Wins Ninth Straight

DANVILLE, Ky. - Berry Men's Basketball continues their hot streak while finalizing the road sweep as they took down Centre this afternoon, 84-67.

Berry is now 9-1 in the SAA and sits at the top in conference at the most important time of the year.

Parker Godwin and Drew Winegarden led Viking scorers today with 16 apiece. With Centre opening up scoring with a three, Drew Winegarden answered with a triple of his own followed by another from Jacob Morgan, then right back to Winegarden for a quick 9-3 turnaround!

After capturing the lead initially, there was no turning back for the Vikings. They continued to lay it on the Colonels with baskets from Nile King, Braxton Benham, and Isaac Martin. Berry went up 14 quickly after Luttrell notched his first points of the game from beyond the arc halfway through the period. Morgan followed behind extending the lead to 16 (32-16).

The offensive efforts from the Vikings finally reached the 20-point mark as Benham quickly stretched out a 6-0 run of his own that was finished by a Winegarden layup at the buzzer after an offensive rebound from Martin. The Vikings led 48-21 at the half.

Coming back out from the locker room for 20 more minutes of play, the Vikings held on with Winegarden dropping two more threes in the second half and substitutes keeping things rolling with more points and defensive stops.

The team effort was phenomenal on the road to capture the win over Centre as Berry completed the road sweep.

The Vikings are back on the road for their final away contest of the regular season in Atlanta as they take on Oglethorpe Wednesday at 8:00 PM ET.
