LEXINGTON, Va. - Berry Women's Soccer was on the road in Lexington, Virginia on Saturday to face the Washington and Lee Generals, where they would fall 8-0.
The Vikings would look to pounce on the Generals early on with a shot from Teresa Rodriguez that missed over the top crossbar. The Vikings defense slipped up just minutes later, resulting in a Washington and Lee goal, giving them the lead 1-0.
Despite a season-high of 11 saves from goalkeeper, Maggie Jones, Berry struggled to find a spark defensively, as the Generals tacked on two more goals in the first half, while only contesting two Berry first-half shots.
A flurry of second-half goals from Washington and Lee would be the story of the second half, as the Vikings were halted offensively again in the second period.
The Vikings will be in action at home on September 17th at 6 PM ET against LaGrange College.
