MARYVILLE, Tenn. - The Vikings opened up their 2024 season on the road against the Scots of Maryville this afternoon, falling 2-1.
A combined six shots were taken in the first period, four by the Vikings.
Dylan Bloch tried to get the early advantage in the 19
th minute of the first sneaking a shot to the top right to be saved by the Scots goalie.
Berry's defense was strong in the first, only letting their opponent get two shots and keeping starting goalkeeper
Cooper Cherry's hands clean.
It was not until the 56
th minute that the Scots claimed the opening goal of the game. However, graduate
Tracy Moon combated that goal ten minutes later with an assist from teammate Bloch.Â
A quick substitution from the Scots played in their favor as he notched one in a minute later in the 68
th minute before the close of the game to take the tight hard-fought match from Berry.
