Box Score MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Vikings' home opener came Saturday night against the Hardin-Simmons Cowboys, and it was nothing short of a nail-biter.
The action-packed affair saw a combined nine shots in the first half, five coming from Berry. Dylan Bloch punched in the first of his two goals for the game with just over ten minutes into the game.
The Vikings held a 1-0 lead until the Cowboys answered with a goal at the 34-minute mark.
The second period would bring more of the same high-octane offense, as the two teams combined for 14 shots. Pirmin Blattmann ignited the Berry crowd with a goal that would give the Vikings the lead in the 61st minute.
Despite the Viking defense holding strong, the Cowboys were able to open the flood gates, scoring two huge goals down the stretch to take a 3-2 lead.
The Vikings' refusal to accept defeat was on full-display when they executed a picture-perfect entry pass from Jensen Brown to captain, Dylan Bloch for a game-tying goal in the 85th minute.
Despite both teams scrambling to get organized offensively in the final four minutes, neither team was able to get a break going, leaving them deadlocked at 3 with all zeros on the game clock.
