MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - In a low scoring affair, the Vikings found a way to win game one of the opening day of the SAA Tournament.
Berry took Sewanee down at 3-1 after the Tigers had just defeated Centre to advance to the winner's bracket.
It was the Tigers who made their way to the board first in the top of the first scoring a single run on starting and winning pitcher,
Hannah Gore.
That would be the only run for the Tigers though as the Vikings took their win streak to twenty!
Morgan Frye started it off in her first at bat with a homer bombed over the left field fence to quickly tie the game.
Although the bats were not hot for Berry, they still found a way to win, and with
Katie Parker reaching on an error in the second, this deterred the Tigers long enough for Berry to add two more runs on the board.
Gore and the defense handled the rest and took game one.
Berry will now play the winning of Sewanee and Centre tomorrow at 2:30 PM ET.
