MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Berry Softball (21-3 overall, 6-0 SAA) remain undefeated in SAA play as they completed the sweep of Centre in today's final series game 9-0.
In the circle for the Vikings for most the game today was
Hannah Gore who took her fifth win with seven strikeouts.
Berry was able to once again run rule the Colonels, but this time it took six inning to do so.
Shining at the plate this St. Patrick's day was
Katie Parker and
Anna Jackson who both had three RBIs on the day.
After being walked,
Morgan Frye and
Katie White, who reached on a fielder's choice, were brought home by Jackson with a single to the outfield (2-0). Jackson crossed the plate in the first once Parker doubled to left and the Vikings shot up 3-0.
Berry stayed hot putting another run on in the second and third innings and holding the Colonels scoreless.
The sixth inning is where the game ended. Needing just three runs to run rule their conference opponent, the Vikings showed up. A walk and hit by pitch put two Vikings on and
Elly Bennett's double scored
Casey Holloway. Now needing only two more runs, the bases were loaded and two walks advanced runners (7-0).
The final runs came after Parker's single scored the final two and completed the game at 9-0.
The Vikings remain at home next weekend for another SAA series against Rhodes College, the first game on Saturday will hold senior day festivities.
