MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Berry Baseball (13-7 overall, 2-3 SAA) competed against in-state rival, Oglethorpe in today's SAA doubleheader, defeating the Petrels in game one 13-3 and falling in game two 9-6.
Game One Berry 13 - Oglethorpe 3
Charles Stephenson owned the mound in game one in aide of his team defensively with 6.1 innings pitched, allowing seven hits, 3 runs, and accumulating 2 strikeouts.
The Vikings were hot at the plate in game one, led by
Joey Garcia going 4-4 with three runs and three RBIs while
Riley Uhls had a respectable four RBIs in the game.
Charles Pulaski's double scored
Levi Cloud in the bottom of the second for the early 1-0 lead. Berry would get back hot at the plate in the third scoring four runs on two hits and still holding the Stormy Petrels runless.
Oglethorpe found their first run in the top of the fourth, but Berry responded in the bottom of the inning with five hits and two runs with RBIs from Uhls and Garcia.
Up 7-1, Berry never gave up and wanted to close the game out with the run rule over Oglethorpe.
Levi Cloud's two run homer left the team one run away from closing it out early, but the Petrels answered scoring two runs in the top of the seventh.
At 10-3, a huge error from the Petrels scored three Vikings and ended the game with a big win.
Game Two Berry 6 - Oglethorpe 9
A big first inning for Oglethorpe gave them a lead that they had not seen all day at 3-0. Berry was still living off the first game and was able to respond in the bottom of the inning and in the second.
Two runs in the first and then three in the second put the Vikings back on top at 5-3.
Oglethorpe's grand slam in the top of the third solidified the game scoring four runs and taking back their lead shortly after the Vikings thought they had the momentum.
Each team only added one more run before the end of the ninth inning.

Levi Cloud led the team with three RBIs in game two and third baseman
Hayden Hightower was 2-3.
The Vikings look to take the series in the final game tomorrow at 12:00 PM ET against Oglethorpe.
