Vikings Boss Hendrix for SAA Victory

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - AnnaKate Estock had five assists and three different players scored four goals for Berry as the Vikings defeated Hendrix 16-1 in Southern Athletic Association women's lacrosse action at Valhalla Saturday afternoon.

Estock's five assists give her 44 points on the season. With Abby Sprayberry's four-point game giving her 44 points on the season, the Vikings now have five players with over 40 points on the year.

Sprayberry did all of her damage in the first quarter, as her two goals and two assists helped Berry to a 6-0 lead after the first 15 minutes. After just over an eight-minute scoring drought into the second quarter, the Vikings (11-1, 3-0 SAA) scored three goals within two minutes as Dani Taraska, Katie Claire Smith, and Molley Cross each found the back of the net to make it 9-0. Smith and Cross would each score again to start the running clock for the remainder of the game and make it 11-0 entering halftime.

Cross and Smith each completed their four-goal games early in the third quarter to make it 13-0. Estock assisted on Smith's final tally, then had the helper on Chloe Pender's goal in the final minute of the third to make it 14-0 through 45 minutes.

Taraska would be the third player to score four for Berry as her tally 30 seconds into the final quarter came on Estock's fifth and final assist. She would complete the Texas hat trick with her fourth goal of the game with 11:37 to go, capping the scoring for the Vikings in the game.

Hendrix (3-4, 0-3 SAA) turned the ball over 32 times in the game. The Warriors were credited with just two shots on goal in the game. The goal came on a free position shot with 2:09 left in the game.

Berry will be back in action Monday night here against DePauw in non-conference action.
