Three different players scored for Berry as the Vikings fell, 18-3, Wednesday afternoon to (RV) Hampden-Sydney in Hampden-Sydney, Va.
While
Nick English was still solid on the draw, going 16-of-24 in the game, the Vikings could get no momentum going offensively. The Vikings (4-1) would turn it over 28 times and get off just 18 shots in the contest.
Connor Ryan got the Vikings on the board in the late stages of the second quarter, but Berry would go into halftime down 12-1. The Vikings would hold H-S scoreless for almost 15 minutes in the second half, scoring a pair of goals in the process. First,
Tyler Banfield would find the back of the net late in the third quarter, then
Michael McKenzie finished a feed from
Joey Cuthbert to make it 15-3. Hampden-Sydney (2-2) would score the final three goals to take the win.
Berry will be back in action Saturday at Southern Virginia. Opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
