Conway, Arkansas – The No. 13 Berry softball team defeated took three games of the four-game series in their last road outing of the regular season over the weekend.
The Vikings dropped game one, 10-2, following an impressive first inning from the Warriors who put up five runs to jump out to a 5-0 lead. Adding four more in the fourth secured the 10-2 win for Hendrix.
Meredith Holland got the start and was dealt her second loss of the season.
Aleeya Thornton and
Riley Jackson led the Vikings in hits with two.
The bats came alive in game two and continued that way for the remainder of the weekend. Outhitting the Warriors 20-4 in game two, the Vikings bounced in a dominant fashion, winning 20-1 in five innings.
Madison got the start and her ninth win, pitching four innings and striking out two.
Abbey Gamble came in for relief in the final inning, giving up zero hits and zero runs.

Bayleigh Masterson each had three hits for the Vikings, with
Samantha Crabtree,
Anna Jackson and
Hannan Razeq adding two each.
Hollis got the start again in game three, pitching just two innings with Emily Schecter coming in in the third to pitch the remainder and earning her first win.
Hendrix jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first, but Berry responded with seven runs in the second lead by a three-run homer from
Morgan Frye. The Vikings recorded 16 hits in the 14-2 win.
The final game of the series wrapped up in a similar way, with the bats of Berry hot. Five Vikings connected with two hits, with Frye and A. Jackson each having a home run. Holland got the start and her eighth win, pitching all five innings and striking out two.
The Vikings are back in action this weekend for the season finale as they host the Colonels of Centre.
