Box Score

ROME, Ga. — The Berry College men's basketball team secured hosting rights for the opening round of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) tournament on Saturday night with a 78-66 victory over Oglethorpe University on Senior Day.

The Vikings improved to 17-8 overall and finished the year 8-6 in conference play. Oglethorpe slipped to 14-11 and 8-6 in league play. Due to tiebreakers, Berry is likely the No. 3 seed but official seeding will be released from the SAA in the coming days. The opening round will take place on Feb. 23.

Caleb Haynes led with 22 points on 7-for-9 shooting. Micah Johnson added a double-double scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Drew Jones also added double digits.

As a team, Berry connected on 47.5% of field goal attempts and held a 38-31 lead at the break. Berry shot above 50% in the second half to secure the win.
