Box Score ROME, Ga. — Caleb Haynes scored a season-high 27 points, but the Berry men's basketball team dropped a Friday night tilt to Birmingham-Southern 68-62.
With the loss, Berry slips to 12-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play. BSC improved to 5-12 and 1-5 in league competition.
Haynes led with a big night, adding seven rebounds on 13-for-19 shooting. Austin Brooks followed off the bench with 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting.
Berry struggled in the first half, shooting just 34.5% from the floor while BSC hit on 46.2% of their shots including five three-pointers. The Vikings out-scored BSC in the second half by a basket, but lost on the boards and capped a 3-for-11 night at the line to slip to .500 in league play.
Berry hosts Millsaps on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
