Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. — The Berry College men's basketball team used a 41-point opening half to sail past the Sewanee Tigers 72-57 on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, Berry improved to 12-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play. Sewanee fell to 8-8 and 2-3 in league play.
Micah Johnson led with 16 points on 4-for-7 shooting. He also went 8-for-9 at the free throw line and added seven assists. Drew Jones (14), Caleb Haynes (13) and DJ Estes (11) also added double-digits.
Berry shot 57.1% in the opening period to jump out to a big lead and controlled the pace the rest of the way. The team added 40 points in the paint to secure the win.
The Vikings return to the Cage on Friday at 8:00 p.m. for another SAA clash against Birmingham-Southern.
