Men's Hoops Drops Friday Night Test at High-Flying Centre

DANVILLE, Ky. — The Berry College men's basketball team fell to the streaking Centre College Colonels on Friday night 74-67, dropping their second straight contest.

Berry sits at 11-4 overall and 2-2 in league play. Centre improved to an impressive 13-2 overall mark and 3-1 record in conference competition. 

Micah Johnson led the way, scoring 20 points on 8-for-18 shooting. Caleb Haynes followed with 13. The difference came from range as Berry connected on just four three-pointers at 22.2% while Centre hit 11 at a 45.8% clip. The Vikings, league-leaders in rebound margin, out-rebounded the Colonels 33-29 and turned the ball over four fewer times, but could not keep pace on the offensive end of the floor. The game saw 14 ties and 20 lead changes. 

Berry closes the weekend at Sewanee on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
