Box Score DANVILLE, Ky. — The Berry College men's basketball team dropped a narrow 57-55 decision at Centre College this afternoon, officially locking Berry in as the No. 2 seed in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) tournament.
Three Vikings scored double-figures in the game that saw nine total lead changes, led by Cory Johnson who posted 12 points on 5-for-8 shooting. Myles Moore notched 11 while Caleb Haynes scored 10.
Berry shot an impressive 60.9% in the opening period and held a 33-30 lead at halftime. That percentage dropped to just 28.6% in the second period, including just 1-for-9 on three point shots as Centre escaped with its second straight SAA regular season title. The Vikings did a lot of things to win the game, including beating Centre on the boards 38-26. Centre was able to turn Berry's 15 turnovers into 13 points, however, as half of Centre's made field goals came from outside the arc.
