Box Score ATLANTA — The Berry College women's basketball team fell to Piedmont on Saturday to open the 2019-20 season.
Madison Wilder led the team with 16 points in her first action as a Viking. Jana Morning and Madeline Sandman also scored double-digits. As a team, the Vikings shot 33.3% from the field and 42.9% from three-point range. Piedmont capitalzed on 26 Berry turnovers, scoring 42 points off Vikings giveaways.
Berry trailed 21-9 after the opening period and 42-27 at halftime. The Vikings outscored Piedmont 19-10 in the third quarter, but the Lions took control in the fourth to claim the win.
Berry continues competition at the SAA/USA South Classic tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. against LaGrange.
