NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. — The Berry College men's golf team jumped one spot on the final day of the NCAA Division III Preview, finishing 10th in a field featuring some of the top programs in DIII.
As a team, the Vikings shot +50 for their 10th place finish. Berry trailed fellow Southern Athletic Association (SAA) member, Rhodes by 13 strokes. Emory took the top spot shooting a +2.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Vikings were led by Preston DeSantis who shot a 227 (+11) in the three-round tournament to finish tied at 28th.
- Henry Jones shot a 229 (+13) to finish tied at 41st.
- Wesley Heston jumped five spots after the final round, shooting a 2229 (+13) for the tournament.
- Andrew Porter and Peter Trask both tied at 60th with a 234 (+18).
UP NEXT:
- Berry will compete at the Rhodes Invitational on Sept. 23-24.
