Vikings' Late Run Falls Short, Women's Basketball Edged by Rhodes 55-52

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Vikings finished the game with a six-point run to push the score within three points, but the Berry College women's basketball team fell to Rhodes College 55-52 on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The game was tied 28-28 at the end of the first half.
  • Both teams shot 38.5-percent (20-of-52) from field goal range, while Rhodes shot 66.7-percent (12-of-18) to Berry's 41.2-percent (7-of-17) from the free throw line.
  • The Lynx also led the game in rebounds (38-31), while the Vikings led in assists (11-7), and both teams added eight steals.

  • Alex Weems: 15 points, 6-for-11 FG, 3-for-7 FTM, 1 AST
  • Valerie McLure: 10 points, 5-for-8 FG, 5 REB, 3 AST

NOTABLES:

  • The Vikings fall to 8-12 overall and 2-7 in the Southern Athletic Association.
  • The Lynx improve to 3-17 and 2-7.
