Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Sewanee edged the Berry College men's basketball team, 61-57, to close the Southern Athletic Association regular season on Sunday.
The Tigers improved to 18-7 and 11-3 in the SAA. The Vikings dropped to 9-16 and 5-9.
Berry had three players score in double figures in the contest: Caleb Johnson, Blake Scherrman and Owen Jacobs.
Johnson had a team-best 15 point and was 7-of-13 shooting. Scherrman and Jacobs both had 14 points. Scherrman made two 3-pointers, while Jacobs collected a team-best six rebounds.
Sewanee led 30-29 at halftime.
For the the game, the Tigers shot 42-percent (22-53) to Berry's 43-percent (23-53). The Tigers won the battle of the boards, 34-29.
Cody Jones poured in a game-high 27 points for Sewanee. He was 8-of-17 shooting and made 7-of-10 free throws.
The Vikings play Oglethrope in a 4 vs. 5 matchup on Friday in the SAA Tournament.
