JACKSON, Miss. -- Millsaps College defeated the Berry College men's basketball team, 86-62, on Sunday. Caleb Johnson led the visiting Vikings with 14 points.

BC dropped to 9-14 and 5-7 in Southern Athletic Association play. The Majors moved to 4-19, 3-9.

Johnson was 5-of-11 shooting, made two 3-pointers and had three rebounds. Blake Scherrman added 12 points for Berry. He was 4-of-12 from the field and grabbed four rebounds.

Berry College trailed 38-27 at halftime.

The Majors shot 57-percent (25-44) in the contest. BC was 21-of-56 shooting (38-percent). 

The Vikes struggled from the free throw line, shooting 15-of-33 (43-percent). MC converted 28-of-35 (80-percent) from the charity stripe.

Berry won the battle of the boards, 36-33. Lee McCloud and Alton McCloud both collected five rebounds for the visitors.

Quinn Atkinson poured in a game-best 26 points for the Majors. All five Millsaps starters recorded double-digit points. 

The Vikings play at Centre College on Friday, Feb. 19.
