Box Score

DANVILLE, Ky. -- The Berry College women's basketball team lost at Centre College, 65-58, on Friday night.

The Vikings dropped to 13-5 and 5-2 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Colonels moved to 7-10 and 3-4 in conference.

Zarriah Pierce paced the visitors with 13 points. The freshman was 5-14 from the field. Maggie Hartlage tallied a game-best 26 points for the Colonels.

Centre held a 28-26 edge at halftime. For the game, the Vikings led in rebounds, 45-33. BC freshman Megan Casey snatched 13 rebounds.

Centre forced 17 and committed 12 turnovers in the contest. The Colonels made 21-of-28 free throws to 4-of-10 for Berry.

"We didn't execute our game plan tonight," said Berry Head Coach Stephanie Dunn. "We were also plagued with early foul trouble and having Mel McLean at home with the flu didn't help matters. A bright spot tonight was that Rosie Lynch came off the bench and hit several big shots."

Lynch came off the bench to record 12 points on four 3-pointers. She made a trey with 4:19 remaining to cut the deficit to 54-52. Centre then outscored BC 11-6 the rest of the way for the final margin.

The Vikings play at Sewanee on Sunday.
