DANVILLE, KY. -- Top-seeded Centre College ended Berry College's men's basketball season, 77-60, in the quarterfinals of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament on Friday afternoon.

Hunter Smoak scored a team-high 16 points for the Vikings. Fellow senior guard Mac Whalen contributed 12 points. Lee McCloud netted 13 points and Owen Jacobs had nine points and nine rebounds for the Vikes.

The Colonels held a 35-24 lead at halftime. For the game, Centre shot 53-percent (39-55) to BC's 32-percent (19-59). The Colonels led in rebounds, 43-30. Berry forced 20 turnovers and had 15 misuces.

Centre's Tyler Wilson had game-bests of 22 points and 17 rebounds.

The Vikings' season ends at 5-21. Centre improved to 21-4 and advanced to tomorrow's semifinals.
