ROME, Ga. -- Hot-shooting Centre College won at Berry College, 91-73, in Southern Athletic Association action at the Cage Centre on Sunday. 

The visiting Colonels improved to 13-3 and 6-0 in the SAA. Berry dropped to 3-14, 0-6.

Mac Whalen scored a team-best 14 points to pace Berry. He made three 3-pointers and added four rebounds. Hunter Smoak added 11 and also made three from beyond the arc.

Centre, which shot 55-percent (29-53), had six players score in double figures. Blake Scinta tallied a game-high 16 points. Teammate Tyler Wesley recorded 10 points, had 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots.

The Vikings trailed 48-25 at the break. The visitors led by as many as 33 points before BC cut the margin.

The home team led in rebounds, 49-44. The Vikings forced 19 and committed 13 turnovers. BC, however, shot 33-percent (25-76) from the field and 47-percent (16-34) from the free-throw line.

Berry hosts Birmingham-Southern on Friday night.
