JACKSON- Nick Cortese had a season-high 24 points as Millsaps knocked off the Berry men's basketball team, 72-53, on Sunday.

Jonathan Abrams (6-11 shooting) led the visitors with 14 points. Freshman Jake Wright tallied 12 points in a reserve role. Lake Graham pulled in a game-best nine rebounds for the Vikes.

Millsaps held a 39-27 lead at halftime. The Majors shot 56-percent (30-53) to 39-percent (22-56) for the visitors. Both teams had 29 rebounds.

"We rebounded the ball much better tonight," said Viking Head Coach Jeff Haarlow. "We struggled to defend them off the dribble. They are a well-coached team."

Berry dropped to 4-15, 1-7 in the SAA. Millsaps improved to 4-15, 2-6. 

The Vikings host Sewanee on Friday at 8 p.m.
