Men's Basketball Lost at Sewanee, 64-50

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The University of the South defeated Berry College, 64-50, in a Southern Athletic Association game on Friday night.

Berry fell to 4-12 and 1-4. Sewanee improved to 8-5 and 1-4.

Viking senior guard Jonathan Abrams netted a team-best 12 points for BC. Teammate Mac Whalen added nine points for Berry.

In the first half, Berry held a 14-13 lead with 8:34 remaining after two free throws from Devan Bruce. The Tigers then went on an 18-6 run and held a 31-20 advantage at the break.

Brett Boudin poured in a game-high 24 points for Sewanee. He was 6-7 shooting and made six 3-pointers.

Berry struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 2-16 attempts. The Tigers connected on 8-18 treys in the contest.

The Sewanee defense held the Vikings to a season-low point total of 50.

"They played good defense on us," said Berry Head Coach Jeff Haarlow. "We had tired legs tonight and couldn't get over the hump. A bright spot for us was Jake Wright (6 points)."

The Vikings continue their SAA road trip on Sunday at Centre in Danville, Ky.
