ROME, Ga. - Brittany Coughlan scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Berry to a 71-63 victory over Berea Saturday afternoon at the Cage Center.
Berry (11-11) used a 17-3 second-half run to turn a 47-46 deficit with 12:35 remaining in the game into a 63-50 lead with seven minutes left. The eight-point margin at the end of the game was as close as Berea would get the rest of the way.
Coughlan had a balanced game, scoring 14 of her points in the first half and 12 in the second. She also had five rebounds in the game's first 20 minutes and seven in the second half.
She was joined in double figures by teammates Holly compton and Carol Lampley. Compton scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out five assists and picked up up four steals. Lampley added 10 points.
Emily Hinkson led Berea (3-24) with 24 points and eight rebounds.
The Lady Vikings are scheduled to return to action Wednesday, when they welcome Hiwassee College to the Cage Center.
