ROME, Ga. - Berry closed the game with a 22-4 run to defeat LaGrange 66-50 Monday evening at the Cage Center.
Berry trailed 46-44 when LaGrange's Stephen Spivey connected on the second free throw after Kendall Gadie's two-shot foul with 9:15 remaining in the game. But the Vikings would then embark on a 12-0 over the next four minutes to go ahead by 10 points.
Berry would allow LaGrange just two buckets in the game's final nine minutes, and held the Panthers scoreless over the final 2:26, turning what had been a close game throughout into a romp.
Tim Miles led three Berry players in double figures with a game high 18 points, despite taking just five shots from the floor. Miles was 3-for-5, including 2-for-3 from 3-point territory in the game. He did most of his damage from the free throw line, where he hit all 10 charity shots.
David Holloman finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and hauling down 13 boards, while Stefan Woods came off the bench to score 10 points for Berry.
Blake Craft led LaGrange with 15 points.
Berry improved to 11-8 overall with the victory. LaGrange dropped to 2-18.
The Vikings are scheduled to return to action Wednesday at Piedmont. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
