Danville, KY – The Berry women's basketball team came up just short in the first game at Centre on Saturday, 55-53.
Jana Morning and
Sydney Blankenship led in scoring with 15 points with
Mary Walters adding seven. Morning also led in rebounds with six.
The game was a back and forth offensive battle the entire 40 minutes and Berry only trailed Centre by four at the half. In the third quarter, Berryoutscored Centre 12-10 to make it a two-point game.
With just under ten seconds left in the game, it was all tied up at 53, but a late jumper with just two seconds left from Centre's Abigail Wehby secured the 55-53 victory for the Colonels.
