Volleyball Drops First SAA Contest in 3-2 Loss to BSC

ROME, Ga. — The No. 5 Berry College volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to Birmingham-Southern in an upset on Friday night. The Vikings are now 9-3 on the year and 1-1 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Berry was off from the start, hitting just .062 in an opening set dominated by the Panthers. BSC hit .379 to open the match and claimed set one 25-12. 
  • The Vikings hit their stride in the second set, winning 25-23 courtesy of a .244 hitting percentage. Berry followed with another 25-23 win in the third.
  • BSC again dominated in set four, winning 25-17. 
  • The Vikings led 10-9 in the fifth set, but BSC went on a 3-0 run to go ahead and stay ahead.
